A multi-block section on the western side of Brooten lost electricity on Saturday, October 21, after an overhead power line was clipped by farm equipment. At 4:45 p.m., a loud boom was heard in western Brooten when the external auger on a large (500+ bushel) gravity box clipped an overhead power line across Highway 55 between School Street and Western Avenue.
