  • Fire Departments battle, defeat grass fire

    The Brooten Fire Department, with mutual aid assistance from the Belgrade Fire Department, battled and defeated a grass fire approximately two miles west of Brooten near the 22:00 hour on Wednesday, November 29. The ambient temperature at the time was 42 degrees, while the wind was reported at 26 miles per hour with gusts as high as 37 miles per hour in eastern Pope County - making fire fighting conditions truly dangerous.   • Women's Expo

    The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Community Education is holding their annual Holiday Women's Expo today (Saturday, Dec. 2) at the elementary school gymnasium. The event ends at 1 p.m. Additional details on the expo were published on page six of the November 30 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper, and also page 12 of the November 23 issue. Also, the Glacial Ridge Ambulance is hosting their Toy Drive for local needy families at the elementary. That ends at noon....

    On the heels of a wicked wind and snow storm that raged across the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa area on Monday, December 4, B-B-E schools has announced a makeup date for the high school's 7th-12th grade Christmas band and choir concert. The month of December is jam packed with activities, so let's hope the next date sticks and does not bring bad weather again! The high school's band and choir Christmas concert will be held on Monday, December 18 at 7 p.m. at the high school. Please pass the word!...
