Easter fun in Brooten and Elrosa is a GO

Don't let the snow fool you!

Don't let the snow fool you, or scare you off! Two events geared for children are being held today in the Bonanza Valley!

The Brooten Commercial Club has made preparations to host their Easter egg/candy event, which includes a bicycle drawing plus picture time with the Easter bunny on Saturday, March 31. In spite of about three inches of fresh snow delivered by Mother Nature overnight combined with very January-like temperatures, the event is still on thanks to the availability of the Brooten Pavilion - the back-up site as mentioned on page one of the March 29 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper. The front page also featured a photo of the four bicycles that will be given away (see pictures below). For the past couple of weeks, they have been on display in the lobby of the Bonanza Valley State Bank.

So come out at 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon! While it won't be 70 degrees in the Pavilion, the heaters will be on to make it comfortable for everyone to spend time together enjoying the occasion. Come early to get the best parking - there will be plenty of candy and plenty of Easter bunny time for your child or children! The Easter bunny will be sitting on the stage accompanied by members of the Miss Brooten royalty. It will mark the second time this has been held in the historic Pavilion, which Brooten is very fortunate to have! The high temperature for March 31 will be 19 degrees with winds out of the northwest at 20 mph.

Up in Elrosa, the Elrosa Commercial Club invites families and their children to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic church, where they'll host time with the Easter bunny from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 31. They'll have treats and coloring books to keep the kids busy while everyone gets their chance for a picture with the Easter bunny.

If you can't get to one of the two events, hopefully you can make it to the other! Or, some such as the newspaper publisher will be at both!
