• On Thursday, May 18, the Padua Pub is hosting Syttende Mai celebrating from 4 to 8 p.m. with a special Norwegian Smorgasbord! Serving lefse, Norwegian Meatballs, Potato Sausage, Pickled Fish, Lutefisk, Fruit, Chicken, Bread & more!

• The Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association (NLLHA) is hosting a banquet and program to mark Syttende Mai, or Norwegian Constitution Day. It will be held at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake on Friday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited. Their will be a catered meal along with traditional Norsk desserts og Rommegrot. The program will include an opportunity to sing several songs in both Norwegian and English along with an excellent conversation titled An Uncommon Act of Kindness by Pat Laib, There is a suggested donation of $10.00 to defray the cost of the meal. Everyone is welcome. Even non-Norwegians!

• The Sunburg Area Commercial Club invites everyone to their day-long 14th annual Syttende Mai celebration on Sunday, May 20. The grand day parade is at 3:30 p.m. (366-3896 or 220-1578 to register) and it concludes with the firemen's supper and a kids pedal tractor pull from 4 to 7 p.m. - more details TBA.
