Busy Sunday in the Bonanza Valley

Sunday, Oct. 14 has a long list of events

 

In a nutshell...as church soon starts! This schedule is for Sunday, October 14, 2018*

1. On a cold, cloudy and windy day, what better event could there be than a Soup and Pie Luncheon! Head to Swift Falls between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., where Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church will host a Soup and Pie Luncheon (GPS address: 201 Falcons Avenue, Benson, MN 56215). ALL THE HOMEMADE SOUP YOU CAN EAT! Chicken wild rice, Wisconsin cheese, vegetable beef, bean and ham, chicken noodle, clam chowder, chili or straight-up potato soup! The meal also includes choice of crackers, buns, milk, coffee and a large assortment of pie to enjoy. Adults (ages 13+) $10, children 5-12 is $5 and children 4 and younger are free. The Women of the ELCA will hold a church bake sale in conjunction with this event: pies, bars, cookies, cakes, lefse, pickles and more.

2. Saints Peter and Paul Catholic church of Elrosa will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for their new elevator/addition project at 12:30 p.m.

3. Integrity Home Investments of Brooten is holding an open house on Sunday, October 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. that the public is invited to. 4. the Big Grove-Crow River-Grace Parish Free Spirits youth group will be having their annual scavenger hunt on Sunday, October 14. Youth will be going to houses in Belgrade, Brooten and Elrosa between 4 and 6 p.m. To help out, the youth group asks you to gather these types of items in bags and have ready for pick up today in that time: personal care items for men and women (soap, razors, shampoo/conditioner, feminine products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc), diapers and other baby/children's toiletries, winter hats/mittens/gloves/scarves, winter boots (men's and women's, sizes 11-13), laundry detergent, dryer sheets, household cleaning supplies, miscellaneous art/craft supplies, and food for the B-B-E food shelf. Besides the food shelf, items will be donated to Safe Avenues, Eagle's Healing Nest, and the Fortress. If you have items to donate and are not visited by the youth, please bring items to the BGCRG Parish Office in the Belgrade Municipal Building by Wednesday, Oct. 17.
