The Sunburg Area Commercial Club will hold their second meeting of 2024 on Monday, April 8 at 6 p.m. at the Sunburg Community Center. They will start planning for the Syttende Mai celebration, which is coming on Sunday, May 19.

Grief Support group begins in Belgrade

Whether you are grieving a recent loss or one from years ago, all are welcome to meet with others who have known similar losses, including loss of a parent, child, sibling, spouse, job, or health. This group meets once each month for 90 minutes on the third Tuesday of the month beginning on April 16 at the Big Grove/Crow River/Grace Lutheran parish office in Belgrade from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. (downtown Belgrade at the municipal building). The Belgrade Hardware store invites you to stop by on Saturday, April 20 between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. to check out new tools and watch tool demonstrations. You can meet their Milwaukee tools representative and ask questions. A sale will be in effect for 10 percent off any Milwaukee tool or kit (special order tools not in their current inventory).

East Norway Lake Lutheran church meatball dinner

East Norway Lake Lutheran church of rural New London invites everyone to their meatball dinner on Sunday, April 21. They will be serving in the fellowship hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with proceeds to benefit their missions. On the menu: meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, coleslaw, fruit salads, bread, assorted desserts, coffee and milk. Prices: adults $15, children ages 6 to 12 are $8 and children ages 5 and under eat free.

Jigsaw puzzle tournament at the Belgrade library

Puzzle lovers are invited to gather into groups of four to form teams for a jigsaw puzzle tournament coming to the Belgrade library on Saturday, April 27. The tournament runs from 12:30 to 3 p.m. that afternoon in downtown Belgrade. Each team receives the same puzzle, and teams try to put the puzzle together the fastest. (Six team limit.) Register with your team name. For ages 12 to adult. Register your team by calling the Belgrade library at 320-254-8842.

The Belgrade Commercial Club is excited to host another Purse Bingo night on Friday, May 10 at the Belgrade V.F.W. at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6). Purse brands include Coach, Kate Spade and Michael Kors. The total cost to play is $40, and to guarantee a seat, here's what you need to do: sign up in advance by paying $20 at the Belgrade branches of Kensington Bank or Magnifi Financial. You can also pay by Venmo to @belcommclub with your name in the subject line. You must purchase your bingo packet at the door that night for $20. No exceptions, and cash only please!
