B-B-E wrestling team wins Paynesville invitational (VIDEO)

On Friday, January 13 at the Paynesville Invitational at the Paynesville Area Community Center, the No. 5-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa wrestling team emerged as champions in an 11-team field.

Other tournament notes:

Wyatt Engen earned his 100th career win in the championship round win where he claimed the 138-pound title. Video of him winning his tournament opener is embedded below.

Ethan Spanier improved to 17-1 this season while pinning his way through three matches and earning the 220-pound title.

On Tuesday this week at the Osakis triangular, the Jaguars won 54-21 over the host Silverstreaks. They also wrestled Eden Valley-Watkins and won 52-16 over the Eagles in a Central Minnesota Conference dual.

On Friday this week, the Jaguars travel to New London-Spicer for an invitational starting at 3:30 p.m. They travel to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted high school on Saturday for an invitational that begins at 9:30 a.m. Next Thursday, the Jaguars are at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg high school for a triangular that also includes Benson.
