Somali daycare scandal gets WORSE (VIDEO)

And! Just when you didn't think it could get worse.

Minnesota day care ("day") programs are licensed to operate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In the case of the Quality Learing Center in Minneapolis, they recently posted hours of operation as being 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is a problem. They receive taxpayer funding from state and federal sources while operating outside the legal hours of operation.

Red flags, anyone?

The attached video from Angela Rose shares her recent visit to this location on the evening of December 24 last week. The video lasts 10 minutes, and you'll want to watch the whole thing. She is an investigative reporter, and she is very good at what she does. Later in the video, Rose explores the connections between Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and the operators of day cares such as Quality Learing Center.

Update on January 3:

According to Minnesota State Represenatative Walter Hudson, a hearing in February 2025 regarding daycare fraud was held where discussion included a list of providers given to DHS. The list of providers included those who received over $1 million in taxpayer funding while having multiple license violations. State lawmakers told DHS of their concerns that daycares continued to receive taxpayer funds while being out of compliance with state law. Hudson has voiced frustration that Governor Tim Walz's administration has turned a blind eye to lawmakers' concerns.

Representative Hudson's YouTube channel features multiple videos where he speaks to the daycare fraud topic: https://www.youtube.com/@thatwalterhudson. Hudson represents District 30A in the northwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area, which includes the cities of St. Michael, Otsego, and Albertville plus parts of Hennepin and Wright Counties.

According to Kare 11 news:

On January 2, Kare 11 news reported that Quality Learing ("Learning") Center had 121 violations over the last three years, most recently for areas used by children in disrepair. Also, seven of the day cares featured in Nick Shirley's 42-minute documentary received a combined $6.3 million in taxpayer funds via the infamous and corrupt Feeding Our Future program. Kare 11 reported that Quality Learning Center received $509,000 between 2018 and 2021, claiming to serve 208,000 meals.
