Cross country skiing at Sibley State Park

 

Sibley State Park invites the public to Cross County Skiing 101 (preregistration required) on Saturday, February 16 from 12 to 2 p.m. For more information, call 320-354-2055.


Description: Learn the basics of how to Cross Country Ski from snowplowing down hills, to how to get up them and how to fall without hurting yourself! Join the naturalist for this introductory class. Skis, boots and poles provided. Call or email (you must receive a confirmation call or email to be officially registered) with your gender (for boot size), height and weight (for ski and pole size).

Meet in the Interpretive Center theater. Dress for outdoor weather conditions. Program will be canceled if it is below zero with a strong wind chill or below ten degrees without. Wear gloves, movable pants, breathable coat and ear protection.

Pack a lunch to enjoy with the naturalist and others afterwards around a warm fire in the trail center.
