Former Brooten Mayor Larry Putz stepped up to serve as Interim Mayor in Brooten for the remainder of 2024. Putz fills the seat vacated by Thor Amundson, who resigned in August after he got married earlier this summer and then moved out of the city limits. Last fall, the Pope County Farm Bureau selected Anderson Farms as its host site for the 2024 Breakfast on the Farm event, which has been held every year since 2019. With a turnout of over 1,800 served and a few hundred above that in attendance, the Pope County Farm Bureau Breakfast on the Farm event on Labor Day was an overwhelming success. The Belgrade Museum has set regular hours for the summer of 2024 when the public is invited to stop by and see all that they offer.
