Terrific food offerings all weekend at Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten

**Article updated on Friday morning AND Friday afternoon

There's very little chance you will be hungry at Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten. There's food a mile wide on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Friday, July 10

*Update: due to a staffing issue, the BVD and Belgrade Library's Art in the Park event has been cancelled. This is an event the BVD Committee looks forward to resuming in 2027! In other news, the large yellow tent is on its way to Brooten! It was slightly delayed on the original schedule, but the tent will be 100 percent good to go in time for the Fireman's Chicken BBQ held tonight...see more information in this web article!

On Friday, the Jenniges Chuckwagon will be parked at Quisberg Park during youth baseball games in the morning and early afternoon. Stop over by the golf course parking lot to see their food truck. Also on Friday, the B-B-E fastpitch team will have a concession stand with food and refreshments set up at the elementary diamond, which will also be hosting youth baseball games. That site also features a fresh lemonade stand, located right along School Avenue.

On Friday night, the Flavor Shack from Osakis will have its food truck set up by the KaDe Shack during the street dance.

The main event of Friday night is the Brooten Fire Department's chicken BBQ supper, which will be served at the city park shelter from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests at this supper can enjoy the spacious large tent or the outdoor seating at numerous picnic tables. The cost is a free will donation.

All weekend, RJs Mini Mart, the Backyard Burger, the KaDe Shack, Marcia's Bar and Lincoln's Seafood and Steakhouse provide other food options. Note: the KaDe Shack will not be serving food on Friday night after 5 p.m. or on Saturday afternoon or on Sunday morning. Lincoln's will be open on Friday from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. (regular Friday hours).

Saturday, July 11

Multiple food options will be available on Saturday, July 11 during Bonanza Valley Days. The big ticket item on Saturday morning is the KaDe Shack's BVD breakfast buffet, which they are serving from 7 a.m. until about noon to mostly overlap the BVD Classic Car, Truck and Tractor show.

The Jenniges Chuckwagon will serve food on Main Street on Saturday morning and then through the evening hours. They will move in front of the Brooten Bakery in the afternoon once the cars/trucks clear out. The Osakis Flavor Shack will also be serving on Saturday, and they'll serve late into the night.

ALSO on Saturday: the Jenniges Chuckwagon will have an "auxiliary" food stand located at the city park shelter area near the Brooten Pavilion. This food stand will featur hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, pulled pork, walking tacos in a bowl and drinks. They will serve beginning late in the morning through mid-afternoon in conjunction with men's slowpitch softball games at that park.

The B-B-E Knights of Columbus will serve root beer floats beginning at 9 a.m. in front of the Brooten Bakery. Also at that location, Stearns County Dairy princesses will serve free milk and cookies from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

The B-B-E varsity fastpitch team will operate the Booster Club trailer on Main Street beginning around noon and then into the night as the Cal Ecker and Amanda Watkins street dance gets underway. (The street dance starts at 8:30 by the way.)

Also, another announcement: Lincoln's will open mid-morning on Saturday during the Car/Truck/Tractor show. They will remain open until about 10 p.m. on Saturday night.

Sunday, July 12

On Sunday, the B-B-E Scouting America's Waffle Feed will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the city park. The adult cost is $13, and other waffle feed information was published in the July 2 and July 9 issues of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper.
