The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 17-U fastpitch team competed in the American Legion's West Central Sub-Region for playoffs in the last week of July. After a 5-2 regular season, the Jaguars earned the No. 2 seed out of 5 teams. They defeated No. 3-seeded Albany 9-2 on Thursday, July 24 at Minnewaska Area. The Trinity and West Lake Johanna Lutheran church parish held a joint service at the Brooten city park on Sunday, July 27. The worship was a special farewell service for Pastor Jeanne Megorden and her husband, Pete, as she is retiring from the Lutheran Ministry at the end of the month.
