The Kandiyohi County Fair wraps up in Willmar on Saturday, August 8. Spencer Otteson, a 2006 Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa graduate, was the son of Glenn Otteson and the late Vicki Otteson of Colfax Township. He was a three-sport Jaguar student-athlete, a husband, father, a science teacher and basketball and golf coach and an all-around terrific young man who passed away at age 33 on May 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. The Bonanza Valley Days began with a terrific evening of socializing and fellowship at the city park for the first Brooten Farmers Market of the season plus the BVD Worship in the Park event. A long list of exciting updates are coming in a light summary fashion of how Saturday of Bonanza Valley Days has gone this weekend in Brooten. Crowds have been tremendous in the heat, and parking was tight near both downtown Brooten, Quisberg Park and Prairie View Golf Course and also at the city park. The BVD Kiddie Parade held on Saturday morning had 23 participants.
