The Bonanza Valley Days T-shirts are now on sale for the big "Kickin' It In the Sticks in 2026" celebration in Brooten. The cost is just $20 each, and they can be purchased at Bonanza Valley State Bank (8 a.m. to 4:20 p.m.) or at The Local Pantry (open Wednesday through Saturday this week, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The Bonanza Valley Days began with a terrific evening of socializing and fellowship at the city park for the first Brooten Farmers Market of the season plus the BVD Worship in the Park event. A special event in honor of the late Rick Thonvold takes place every summer during Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten. The Rick Thonvold Kids Pedal Pull is at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 11 on Main Street; the set up is in front of the KaDe Shack. The contest features divisions for children ages 5 to 11, who can all qualify for the state pedal pull contest in Hutchinson.
