Grove Lake area veterans and family members held a Memorial weekend program on Sunday, May 25. The event began with a short ceremony at the Grove Lake Chapel, which is located along Pope County Road 39 south of the town. The community of Grove Lake hosted a Memorial program that featured local veterans and a short prayer service on the shores of Grove Lake at the township park. Children participated by placing wreaths and flowers at gravesites at the two cemeteries adjacent to County Road 39 south of town.
