As briefly mentioned in the April 2 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper, the Sunburg Fire Department is currently raising funds to purchase a new (used) tanker/pumper truck. The department has a fundraising goal of $150,000. On December 31 last year, they had $34,350 raised. On March 11 this year, a mailer went out to local and faraway contacts which yielded tremendous results. By March 28, the total raised was $101,750. As of Monday, April 6, the total was $114,554.
