The Pope County Fair had a truly tremendous day of activities on Friday, August 1 in Glenwood. With temperatures hovering in the mid-70s and full sunshine, conditions were perfect for the outdoor events taking place at the fair. In the 4-H cattle show at Jack Morris Arena, they had 150 cattle registered. On Thursday night, the Birch Coulee Ranch Rodeo had 33 teams participate. Easton Rood, who will be a third grader this fall at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa elementary school, has now beaten back two different bouts with cancer. On June 18, he returned from a 216-day stay in Rochester where he fought off AML Leukemia while going through a successful bone marrow transplant. Organizers were thrilled to have an official turnout of 63 for this event.
