Charlotte “Char” Wold was born April 14,1962 to Clarence and Genevieve Czech in Little Falls, MN. She grew up on the family dairy farm in Royalton and then in Milaca, instilling a work ethic that she passed on to her own daughters. Char graduated from Milaca High School in 1980. She attended St Cloud Vo Tech. Following graduation, from the Child Development Program, Char moved to the Willmar area in 1981 and began work at the Willmar State Hospital. It was there that she met her future husband Danny Wold (they joked that they both had keys.)
Char married Danny Wold on June 26, 1982, in Milaca. They spent 44 years dedicated to each other and their family. In 1986, they moved to their farm in Belgrade. They were blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Jesse.
Throughout the years, Char and Danny opened their home and hearts to numerous kids through foster care. Dorine Jones came into their home in 1988 and formed a lasting relationship. Spending time with Dorine's daughters, Allison and Victoria, and Victoria's children, Hank and Aelin, gave her great joy.
In 1992, Char attended Ridgewater College for nursing to earn her LPN and later her RN degree, graduating in 1996. Char spent her working career as a dedicated nurse and later as a Director of Nursing in long-term care facilities throughout the area. She was a passionate and hardworking nurse. Char retired from nursing in 2024, looking forward to spending more time with Danny traveling, camping and riding horses.
Danny and Char were active in hosting high school foreign exchange students. This allowed them to form family connections around the world. They enjoyed traveling to visit former exchange students and their families. Most recently, they traveled to Norway to welcome a new baby grandson, Bastian, into their family.
Prior to retirement, Danny and Char opened their home as a thriving Airbnb rental and made valuable friendships with many of their boarders.
Although her retirement was short, she was able to reignite her passion for quilting, making over 10 quilts in the last year of her life. She was also an avid gardener and prior to her passing ensured her vegetable garden was planted to her specifications.
Char is survived by her loving husband, Danny; daughters: Sarah Wold (Sara Wallentine), Jessica Wold (Cassi Jaeger); foster-daughter, Dorine (Josh) Geurts; grandchildren: Allison Geurts, Victoria (Nolan) Hartl, and Lucy Wallentine; great-grandchildren: Hank and Aelin Hartl.
