On a sunny afternoon in what felt like a supercharged heat wave, the Miss Brooten pageant took place at the historic Brooten Pavilion on Sunday, July 12. The title of Miss Brooten was earned by Mya Worms, and the new 2026-2027 Little Miss Brooten is Thea Molitor.
Worms is the daughter of Brian and Amy Worms and was sponsored by Lucky Shots Bowling Alley. Molitor is the daughter of Tyson and Michelle Molitor and was sponsored by Rustic Stables Stylist.
The Miss Brooten princesses for 2026-2027 are Kamie Fischer and Surabhi Velez.
The Little Miss Brooten Princess is Hazel Dickhoff, daughter of Joe and Kayla Dickhoff.
Worms also earned the Miss Congenialty honor.
Worms, Fischer and Velez are tremendously busy and active students who will be seniors at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school this fall. The community thanks them for offering to serve for 2026-2027 in Brooten.
A special shout out to Madison Hofmann and Faith Radermacher, who are the Miss Brooten co-chairs. They put in a tremendous level of effort and energy to keep the program running at a high level. The community is grateful for their work!

The community of Brooten experienced a marvelous Bonanza Valley Days across four days of activities from July 9 to July 12. This is due in large part to the incredible support of the Brooten Fire Relief Association, which funds over half of all BVD activities. Dozens and dozens of businesses, families and individuals donate the remaining funds needed for BVD, and they should all be proud of what the town pulled off this weekend.
