Saturday has been terrific for Bonanza Valley Days in Brooten (VIDEO)

A long list of exciting updates are coming in a light summary fashion of how Saturday of Bonanza Valley Days has gone this weekend in Brooten. Crowds have been tremendous in the heat, and parking was tight near both downtown Brooten, Quisberg Park and Prairie View Golf Course and also at the city park.

The BVD Kiddie Parade held on Saturday morning had 23 participants. Also in the morning, the BVD Classic Car and Truck show surpassed 50 entries, and both the BVD Tractor Show and the Brut Snowmobile gathering each had 30 entries.

The Rick Thonvold Kids Pedal Pull featured 88 pullers ages 4 to 11. That was up by one from the 2025 participation.

The attached video features views from both the Cal Ecker and Amanda Watkins street dance and the bean bag tournament. The bean bag tournament featured 39 teams, and the camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by all teams was remarkable.

Temperatures surpassed 90 degrees on Saturday afternoon right as the BVD Sand Volleyball and the BVD Men's Softball tournaments were still in progress. The food and drink offerings at multiple locations helped get everyone through the hot conditions.

The Gary Fauskee Cup Memorial was held at Prairie View Community Golf Course with a strong turnout by a family that loves Brooten dearly. It was just one example of many of how the town came together to throw a great big party all day long!

There's one more day!

On Sunday, don't forget the B-B-E Scouting America Troop 667 waffle feed, which runs from 8 a.m. to noon at the city park. There will be ample space to eat at the spacious yellow tent. This is a major fundraiser event for the local scouts. Please come out and show your support!

A special Bonanza Valley Days Mass takes place at St. Donatus Church at 10 a.m.

The BVD grand parade is at 1:30 p.m., and staging takes place at the elementary school and other streets on the west side of town.
