Belgrade Lions Family Fun Day

The Belgrade Lions invites people of all ages, especially families, to come to their annual Family Fun Day at the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school on Sunday, January 28. The event is from 1 to 3 p.m. and includes activities for everyone, including kids' games in the main gymnasium, physically-active games in the auxiliary gymnasium as well as Lions Bingo in the auditorium. Yoga in Belgrade!

Your Hometown Massage is offering yoga classes on *Wednesdays in February! Plus Wednesday, January 31! Classes last one hour, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., and they are held at the Belgrade municipal hall in downtown Belgrade. Drop in and check it out. Drop-in cost is $12 per class. Belgrade V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary steak fry/pork chop feed

The Belgrade V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary will host a steak fry and pork chop feed fundraiser on Saturday, February 3 at the V.F.W. Club from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Menu: steak or 2 pork chops or 1 smoked pork chop, baked potato, coleslaw, roll & beverage. Everyone welcome!

Come join the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Area Jaycees for their TROPICAL themed party on Saturday, February 3 at the Belgrade V.F.W.! The DJ will start playing at 8:00 p.m. Make sure to come dressed in your best tropical attire. Prizes will be awarded throughout the night!

Brink's Beer Joint - Swift Falls - Predator Hunt

Brink's Beer Joint invites hunters throughout the area to their 2018 Predator Hunt, coming Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018. TIME: Sunrise to Sunset, must be checked in by 7 p.m., and late arrivals will not be counted, must sign up by February 9 (in person or by phone); $10 per hunter, 100 percent payback payouts per dog, $50 prize biggest coyote, $50 biggest fox. The Brooten city council will hold a regular meeting on Monday, February 12 at the city hall meeting chambers at 7 p.m. The second monthly meeting will be held at the same time and location on Monday, February 26.

B-B-E High School POPS choir concert

The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school choral department invites the public to their winter POPS concert on Monday, February 12 at the high school auditorium. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

B-B-E Knights of Columbus Fish Fry

The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Father Vincent Santo Council #13284 chapter of the Knights of Columbus will hold a fish fry fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 16 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the KaDe Shack in Brooten. The proceeds from this event will go to the Chuck and Karen Ampe family, who lost their Belgrade farm house to a serious fire on January 27. The K of C is also selling raffle tickets for a drawing to be held on Friday, March 16 at 9 p.m. Other fish fry dates with funds raised for the K of C chapter will be Friday, March 2 and Friday, March 16 at the same times and location as the first one. First prize = $500, 2nd prize = $250, 3rd prize - $100, plus 25 prizes of $25 each - ticket costs are $10 with a maximum of 500 tickets sold (must be 18 or older).

Minnesota Farmers Union, Kandiyohi County - spaghetti dinner

The Kandiyohi County Farmers Union will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 18 at the Atwater Community Center. There will also be a silent auction and bake sale. Farmers Union members are asked to contribute items for the bake sale. All proceeds go to the Kandiyohi Farmers Union Educational Fund. This is a kid-friendly event!

LSP Farm Bill meeting

The 2018 federal Farm Bill is starting to be written. Land Stewardship Project would like to hear from the public about what they want to see in the next Farm Bill. On Thursday, Feb. 22 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glenwood (122 1st St. N.W.), LSP staff will give an update on the 2018 discussion, and they ask you to share your vision of what needs to be included in the federal policy. You can also learn how LSP members are working to shape the Farm Bill around conservation, beginning farmers, crop insurance reform and more. Elrosa Senior Citizens Bologna Daze

The Elrosa Senior Citizens group invites everyone to the first Bologna Daze fundraiser event of 2018. The first one of the year will be held on Tuesday, February 27 at Bucky's Bar in Elrosa. More details will be published in the February 15 and 22 issues of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper.

The Belgrade Senior Citizens group will NOT hold their monthly meeting in February due to construction underway at city hall.
