The annual Bonanza Valley Days celebration in Brooten is coming next on July 8, 9, 10 and 11 in 2027! Spread the word and mark your calendars! The 2027 BVD grand parade starts at 1:30 p.m. in Brooten on Sunday, July 11, 2027.
Belgrade August Fest 2026!
Mark your calendars for the big weekend in Belgrade! August 13-16
The annual Belgrade August Fest is coming on August 13-16 (Thursday to Sunday) in the summer of 2026. The 2026 August Fest grand parade starts at 4 p.m. in Belgrade on Saturday, August 15.

Sunburg Fire Department Community Appreciation night
A community appreciation gathering will be held Tuesday, August 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sunburg Fire Hall for donors and community members to check out the truck and visit with Sunburg First Responders - Fire and EMS. This is also to help celebrate the generous response to the fire department's major truck fundraiser that began this past winter.

Brooten Farmers Market season continues!
The Brooten Farmers Market will operate for the fifth night of the 2026 season on Thursday, August 6 at the Brooten city park and/or the shelter and/or gazebo from 4 to 7 p.m. depending on the weather. Please pass the word! Local craftsman, bakers and artists are welcome to join! Contact the Bonanza Valley Voice for more details at 320-346-2400. The Brooten Farmers Market will run weekly on Thursdays through at least September.

The next Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa school board meeting is on Monday, August 10 at 7 p.m. at the B-B-E high school media center in Belgrade. The meeting is open to the public.

The Brooten City Council will meet in regular session on Monday, August 10 at 7 p.m. at the city hall meeting chambers in downtown Brooten. The meeting is open to the public. The Elrosa city council will meet on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 7 p.m. at Elrosa's city hall for their regular monthly meeting.

The Sedan city council will meet in regular session on Wednesday, August 12 at 6 p.m., open to the public at the Sedan City Hall.

Belgrade Co-op Open House
Belgrade Co-operative patrons and community members are invited to join Co-op staff for an Open House celebration on Wednesday, August 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their location in the Industrial Park. Enter your name for a chance to win door prizes, enjoy refreshments and view new office art work on display by local artists Shannon Anderson and Kathy Peterson.

Belgrade August Fest Concert in the Park night
The Belgrade August Fest celebration kicks off with a Concert in the Park night on Thursday, August 13 at the city park facilities on South Highway 71. The music played by Southern Crossroads will be played from 6 to 8 p.m. Other activities include food ($7/plate), a petting zoo, beer garden and Touch-a-Truck for all ages. Other details to follow.

Belgrade August Fest Community Worship and FREE picnic!
The Belgrade August Fest celebration wraps up on Sunday, August 16 with a Community Worship and free picnic. The non-denominational worship service, led by Big Grove/Crow River/Grace Lutheran Parish and River of Life Church, begins at 11 a.m. at the city park (South Highway 71), and everyone is invited. A picnic begins at the city park after worship at about 12 p.m. The menu: pulled pork sandwiches, salads, chips, dessert and drinks provided by local churches.

Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association log church celebration
The Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association invites everyone to their annual log church anniversary celebration on Saturday, August 16 with a catered picnic lunch starting at noon (free will donation). A program follows with a short play and stories about the Scandinavian immigrants and how they built farms and communities on the Norway Lake prairie. Afterwards, lease and coffee will be served with time for visiting.
