Live streaming station

Bonanza Valley Voice now offers a live Internet streaming station

The Bonanza Valley Voice is one of the first newspapers in the state of Minnesota to offer our very own live Internet video streaming station. A "trial run" took place on Saturday with limited success during the turkey drawing sponsored by Brooten-area businesses for 30 turkeys at the Ka-De Shack.

The Bonanza Valley Voice's live streaming station's Internet URL is this = http://citylinktv.com/channel/brooten-bonanza-valley-voice. At this site, visitors can find an "event calendar" link on the right-side column. The video feed is dark and not active until the event coverage begins. Currently these events are set up on the calendar:

1. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa boys' basketball at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Monday, November 23. It's the season opener for both teams. Coverage should begin at about 7:30 p.m. The stream will be "dark" until just before tip-off. Prior to making the stream live, the video player will say "cannot load M3U8: 404 not found" which will change once we flip the switch. Visitors will have to reload their web browser until the video stream commences.

2. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa wrestling home tournament on Wednesday, November 25. The Bonanza Valley Voice will stream the finals of this eight-team tournament. To get up-to-the-minute updates on when the finals will start, visitors are asked to follow the Jaguar Sports blog that night at http://bbejaguars.blogspot.com.

3. B-B-E's high school band and choir Christmas/Holiday concert on Monday, December 7. This event begins at 7 p.m.

Note: as is the case with any new technology, this streaming site will have its rough moments at first. For example, the Wi-Fi Internet connection at the K-M-S high school is spotty in their gymnasium. A back-up plan is in place to provide Internet, but this event can basically be dubbed a second "trial run" of the streaming station. The publisher has two viewers who will be watching on Monday night and providing up-to-the-minute feedback to the Bonanza Valley Voice broadcasting team on how the live stream is faring.
