The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa track and field teams kicked off the 2016 season with the indoor Central Minnesota Conference meet last week Tuesday in St. Cloud. The meet was a chance for the athletes to get a taste of competition and also break up the monotony that can creep up during preseason drills.

First-year head coach Tina Bauleke has a strong turnout of 30 students on her varsity roster between the boys' and girls' squads. Overall the track and field program has 36 student-athletes between the varsity and junior high squads.
