As temperatures dropped during the grips of this past winter, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa school district rolled out its new portable hybrid ice shack and concession stand.

Materials and services were graciously donated by local businesses. Roger Weller of Elrosa Lumber Company donated the interior glass board paneling.

"The paneling is essential for providing an easy-to-clean interior that's needed for use both on the ice and on the field. Beyond that, Elrosa Lumber Company donated exterior sheeting and other framing materials," said Gregory.

Belgrade Steel Tank donated the steel tubing for the frame.

Pat Illies with Bonanza Valley Lumber donated framing materials, insulation and flooring.

Bayer Built donated the shack door, and Jason Quade with Heritage Exteriors and Restoration donated roofing materials.

"The time and commitment for the work and organization of the project was largely the result of our agriculture teacher Gary Rodgers, our Industrial Technology teacher Tom Gjerstad and the many students in their classes who gave time along the way," said high school Dean of Students Dr. Gregory.
