Just what the heck is wrong with Minnesota's DFL party today?
Oh, let me count the ways!
A little background: in 1967, a person's sex (male or female) was embedded as a protected class in Minnesota's Human Rights Act. The purpose of protecting biological sex in the state's HRA was so that members of the female sex could access the same rights and priveleges as members of the male sex.
In 2024, the phrase "gender identity" was included in the state's HRA as a protected category. According to that type of psychology, a person can "declare" their "status" via outward "expressions" that signify them as a boy or a man or a girl or a woman.
Minnesota State Representative Walter Hudson spells out the issue in greater detail in the attached video from his YouTube channel. He declares that there are biological differences between men and women that have real world implications. Hudson argues passionately that males should not be allowed on a playing field such as a girls' basketball game on a junior high basketball court.
Hudson also points out that the DFL has yet to point out why his arguments are incorrect. Sadly, DFLers instead choose to simply walk out and ignore the argument altogether. Quite simply: the DFL cannot handle the truth. It's too much for them. Instead of sitting and making their case, they prefer to throw tantrums and walk out of the discussion.
Republicans have plenty of faults in 2026. If nothing else, they at least have the decency to protect the privacy and sanctity of a girls' locker room.
