Minnesota Farmers Union to hold Special Election

Special election for office of MFU president will be January 21

 

Minnesota Farmers Union (MFU) will hold a special election to fill the seat of President for the organization left by Doug Peterson's retirement December 31, 2016. The special election will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday January 21, 2017 at the home office of Minnesota Farmers Union, 305 Roselawn Ave E, St. Paul, MN 55117.

Candidates to become the 10th president for the organization are (listed by filing date): current Vice President of MFU Gary Wertish of Renville, MN; Former Senator Vicki Jensen of Owatonna, MN; and Former Senator Lyle Koenen of Clara City, MN.

The candidates will have time to address the members of the full board of Minnesota Farmers Union prior to the voting hour. Members of the full board of Farmers Union consist of County Presidents representing counties throughout the state of Minnesota.
