Celebrating, remembering Norway Lake forefathers

19th annual celebration of Norway Lake old log church held on August 19

The Norway Lake Lutheran Historical Association (NLLHA) was thrilled to see a strong turnout for the 19th annual celebration of the old log church on Sunday, August 19. The church building is a near-exact replica of the first church built in the Norway Lake settlement of northwestern Kandiyohi County back in 1867. Out of this church grew many others across the region including churches by Sunburg and northward towards Brooten.

As part of the celebration, short skits were played out that told true historical stories from the settlement of the Norway Lake area. The actors in these short plays are friends and neighbors of the area.

See below for video of the skits. The Bonanza Valley Voice is currently working to create a video that includes footage from the morning worship service plus the afternoon skits.
