B-B-E elementary school holds Veterans Day program
School staff and Brooten American Legion join together for the special event

Students and staff at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa elementary school, along with members of the Brooten American Legion and Brooten American Legion Auxiliary groups, joined together to hold a Veterans Day program in the main gymnasium on Monday, November 12.
B-B-E high school juniors Brittany Berge, Brooke Deters and Grace Illies read their Voice of Democracy contest essays, and the B-B-E senior high band and choir and the Pope County Men's Chorus all performed a selection of songs. The program concluded with American Legion member Sam Sanders playing Taps.

Following the program, Legion members were provided a lunch provided by Auxiliary members at the Brooten American Legion Hall.
A high school Veterans Day program will follow at 1 p.m. on November 12. It will be hosted by high school staff and the Belgrade V.F.W. Post No. 1825.

Also, another change from the Veterans Day holiday. The Brooten city council will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, November 13 at the city hall meeting chambers at 7 p.m. This meeting was moved to November 13 due to November 12 being a federal holiday for Veterans Day. The second regular meeting of November will follow on November 26.
