(OPINION) Set fear aside and use science and data-backed treatments to fight COVID-19

December 3, 2020

Here's an unpopular idea to chew on: we should use science and data-backed treatment to fight COVID-19 instead of fear-induced, knee-jerk reactions to the coronavirus-induced pandemic that has altered the life of every man, woman and child on the planet.

The 27-minute long video below states: the data is 100 percent in agreement: all studies show a clinical benefit for use of Ivermectin. It works as a pre-exposure prophylaxis, post exposure prophylaxis, and when given to both early and late hospitalized patients. Oddly, Ivermectin is an anti-parasite drug. One of its uses is to fight head lice.

As importantly, one study shows a profound improvement in the symptoms for the "long haul" Covid sufferers, for which no other treatments seem

to have worked. Ivermectin is applied based on a person's weight. Based on everything I've read, it is doctor-prescribed. It is not an over-the-counter drug.

Below is what I will take if I believe I've contracted COVID-19. This is a regimen that should be taken until the viral infection has passed. Study after study show that swift, early outpatient steps can be taken to dramatically reduce the chances of requiring hospitalization due to COVID-19 infections. And isn't decreasing the need for hospitalizations a worthy goal?

Vitamin D3: 4,000 IU per day

Vitamin C: 2,000 mg. two to three times daily

Quercetin: 250 mg. twice per day

Zinc: 100 mg. per day

Melatonin: 10 mg. before bed time

What do I believe a person should you take during any flu season or the current era of COVID-19? This is a very good regiment in my un-expert opinion:

Vitamin D3: 1,000 to 3,000 IU per day depending on your body's Vitamin D levels

Vitamin C: 1,000 mg. twice per day

Quercetin: 250 mg. per day

Zinc: 50 mg. per day

Melatonin: 6 mg. before bed time

Did you catch all that? Vitamins D3 and C, quercetin, zinc...all hold great value for the body. If you don't take more than the recommended levels, there is no down side to taking these supplements. Financially, do the math and make your own decision. Keep in mind, the cost of Vitamin D3 is just a few dollars for a bottle that has 100 doses!

If you click on the following short link, you'll be re-directed to a column that outlines the various benefits of a distinct list of supplements. It includes explanation on why they are important while also pointing out that further research should still continue: https://bit.ly/3otdT9L.

For the past few weeks I've been taking 200 mcg of selenium every day plus daily doses of Vitamin D3 and zinc. I've got quercetin ordered that should arrive in about a week. During the spring and summer, I won't take extra Vitamin D3 supplements. For me, that's just a winter thing. While my health seemed to take a hit about three years ago as I approached the magic age of 40, recently I have never felt as good physically as I do now. I feel amazing. I am going the extra mile to take better care of my body. I haven't felt this great since I was in my 20s! Shouldn't that be a goal of everyone? To feel as absolutely good as you possibly can? I know this: when you're healthy, finding joy in life is much, much easier.
