Less than three months after a drunk driver killed Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 2015 graduate Josey Tensen on the Great Plains of northwest Nebraska, a car-pickup accident on the evening of Thursday, April 22 killed B-B-E Class of 2020 graduate Joseph Feldman in the hills of southwestern Douglas County in western Minnesota.

Feldman, 19, was westbound on Highway 55 in Solem Township near Kensington. His pickup truck collided in a head-on type crash with a car driven by 16-year old Taylor Mattson of Kensington. Both died in the accident. Few details are available beyond that at this point (Friday afternoon, April 23). The crash report stated that the accident occurred at about 9:35 p.m., with Feldman in a Ford F-150 truck and Mattson in a Buick Lucerne sedan.

Taylor Mattson was the daughter of Matt and Kerri Mattson, a dairy farm family in northern Pope County near Kensington.

(HD VIDEO) Here's a clip going back to February 5, 2016 during the B-B-E high school Sno-Daze pep fest games. That was a memorable moment of Sno-Daze week! English teacher Colton Hinz was a great sport to get duct taped to that chair!

Feldman was a deeply loved member of his class and had a smile for everyone who met him. Feldman played four sports across his six years at B-B-E high school: football, basketball, wrestling and baseball. In his senior year, he was the treasurer of the B-B-E FFA chapter and was a dedicated FFA student throughout high school. In addition, Feldman was a member of the Clay Trapshooting team since 2016. He was also a devoted, caring member of the B-B-E Catholic church community and will be missed by all of us in Jaguar Country.

Update: the Mass of Christian Burial for Joe Feldman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. Interment will be at St. Donatus Catholic Cemetery in Brooten. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Parish Prayers at 4:00 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8:00 p.m. Services are entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade: https://www.hafh.org.
