Belgrade August Fest opens with concert in the park and great food!

On August 12, 2021, a large crowd gathered for the music in the park concert at the initial night of the Belgrade August Fest celebration.

The Belgrade Commercial Club is excited to announce dates for the upcoming Belgrade August Fest, which will be held on August 11, 12 and 13.

Weekend activities kick off with a Thursday night Community Celebration in the park that includes a basketball court fundraiser at the Belgrade city park on South Highway 71. Everyone throughout the B-B-E area is invited!

Food served by Queen Bee's is available from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at a cost of just $5 a plate. The menu includes pulled pork or BBQ sandwiches with chips, beans, pop and water. At the same time, Goat Ridge Brewing Co will serve craft beer at $4 a glass.

Live music by Custom Made Band is from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

All proceeds for the night will be matched and donated towards upgrades to the Belgrade city park basketball courts. The event is sponsored by Belgrade Co-op.

The big ticket items to plan for on Friday and Saturday include:

Friday, August 12: Myrtle Mabee library's 95th birthday bash open house is 9 a.m. to noon. The public is invited to come see how the library has grown through the years. Activities for kids will be available. This activity will be repeated on Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.

Also, don't miss out on the Belgrade Fire and Rescue chicken dinner at Belgrade V.F.W. Post No. 1825 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door. Taking place at the same time and location will be an ice cream sundae social sponsored by Kensington Bank and Kensington Insurance Agency. DeeJay Sounds of Belgrade will play music outside the V.F.W. during the chicken and ice cream feed.

The Friday night street dance by the V.F.W features Dana Robinson and the Bottle Rockets from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Saturday, August 13: the B-B-E Scouts B.S.A Troop 667 will host grandpa's Belgian waffles from 8 a.m. to noon in front of the V.F.W. Multiple activities take place throughout Saturday morning and afternoon, including a Car, Truck and Tractor show in downtown Belgrade from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

FREE kids inflatables are also downtown from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Belgrade Lions Club. These are part of multiple FREE activities during that five-hour stretch.

Coop's Corner and the B-B-E Wrestling Club will have food offerings throughout the day set up by the Belgrade V.F.W. Coop's Corner will have pizza and tacos in a bag for sale.

Saturday also includes a pie eating contest, a best salsa contest, the kids pedal pull and junior and adult bean bag tournaments. Multiple other activities are scheduled, so stay tuned to upcoming newspaper issues to learn more.

The August Fest Grand Parade is at 4 p.m. and will be staged out of the high school parking lot. Contact Leah Fernelius at 320-894-2334 to register for the parade. The parade registration form will be published in upcoming Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper issues.

The Belgrade Royal Ambassador coronation takes place on the stage outside the V.F.W. at 5:30 p.m.

A free street dance featuring Pandemic will be outside the V.F.W. from 8 p.m. to midnight.
