In this rare gem of a video, the official start of the Centennial celebration in Brooten began with a flag-raising ceremony in front of the former Brooten high school. This was held on Friday, July 18, 1986 at the flag pole west of the building. Former Mayor Kay Mohr gives a speech in this video. He just passed away on December 6, and a feature article is included in the December 15 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper.
