B-B-E boys' basketball team wins playoff opener

The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa boys' basketball team advanced to the second round of playoffs after dismantling Ortonville 88-57 on the home floor on Wednesday, March 8 in Brooten. Altogether, 10 Jaguars found the scoring column and 13 saw the floor. The game was moved up by one day due to the potential for severe weather that was forecast for Thursday the 9th.

At halftime, the Jaguars led 53-23 after initially trailing 12-6. Ortonville (1-27) went the entire regular season without a win before earning a 63-53 win at Benson on Monday in the play-in round.

NEXT: the Jaguars (23-4) advance to the Sub-Section 6A-South semifinals where they'll take on No. 4-seeded Hancock at 6 p.m. at Minnewaska Area high school on Monday, March 13.
