B-B-E boys' golf heading back to state (VIDEO)

After a remarkable performance in the Section 5A finals on Wednesday, May 31, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa boys' golf team has punched its ticket to the state golf meet for the second year in a row and second time overall in school history.

With senior Brady Schwinghammer carding a 71 in his final 18 holes, the Jaguars shot a 703 overall across the two-day section meet to defeated runner-up Dawson-Boyd, who shot a 707.

Schwinghammer finished with a score of 149 to win the Section 5A individual medalist title. Eli Gregory tied for 14th place, and Matt Walz placed 19th overall. Schwinghammer, Gregory and Walz are the three returning golfers from last year's Section 5A championship squad.

3. Willmar Community Christian 708 (354)

4. Yellow Medicine East 736 (381)

The Class 1A state golf meet is at Pebble Creek golf course in Becker on June 13-14.
