B-B-E Jaguar baseball season concludes in section finals (VIDEO)

In Clarissa for the final week of the Section 6A playoffs, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa baseball team battled their way into the championship series after falling to Parkers Prairie 10-5 in the winners bracket final and then defeating Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 13-3 in five innings in the losers bracket final. The loss to Parkers Prairie took place across both Tuesday and Wednesday after the weather halted the game in the second inning on Tuesday.

B-B-E's 13-3 five-inning win took place on Thursday afternoon (June 6) in Clarissa as the Jaguars advanced to the Section 6A championship for the third straight year.

In the section finals, Parkers Prairie came back from a 9-5 deficit in the seventh inning to ultimately win 11-10 in eight innings. They take a 23-1 record into the Class 1A state tournament next week. The Jaguars finish the season 16-9 overall, which marks a tie for the second-most wins in school history. The 1995 squad went 16-4 and held the record for most total wins in a season until 2016, when the Jaguars went 19-7.
