The Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team faced Windom in the Class C state tournament opener on Saturday, August 16 in Hutchinson. The Pirates took an early 2-0 lead and later broke a 2-2 tie on their way to a 6-2 win.
Pitching for Elrosa were Ethan Vogt, Weston Gjerde (Norway Lake-Sunburg draftee) and Will VanBeck.
