The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa volleyball team utilized a strong, balanced attack with 3 players in double figures in kills to defeat West Central Area in 4 sets on Tuesday, Sept. 16 in Barrett. Kacey Fischer with 14 kills and Kadynce Haider and Macey Roering with 10 kills each were part of 142 attacks and a team hitting efficiency of 19.7 percent. The win raised B-B-E's record to 11-4 overall.
On Saturday, the Jaguars won the Crosby-Ironton Invitational. They swept visiting Holdingford last Thursday.
The Jaguars traveled to Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City (7-8) on Thursday, September 18 in a match featuring two teams with 2-0 Central Minnesota Conference records. B-B-E won in 3 sets. In the attached video, you can watch action from late in game 2 that night.
For Homecoming week, the Jaguars have a marquee matchup on the home court next Tuesday, Sept. 23 when neighboring rival Sauk Centre comes to town. The No. 10-ranked Class 2A Mainstreeters won 3-2 in another border battle over Melrose on Tuesday to improve to 11-3 overall (5-1 West Central Conference). It will be the first B-B-E vs. Sauk Centre volleyball match since the Jaguars lost 3-2 at Sauk Centre in 2021, when the Mainstreeters went 33-1 and won a state title.
On Thursday, September 25, the Jaguars host Eden Valley-Watkins (3-9, 0-2).
