B-B-E Football advances to FargoDome (VIDEO)

Jaguars play in Fargo on Friday, October 31 at 10 a.m.

In a game that went down to the wire, the outcome not decided until the final minute, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa football team defeated Ashby/Brandon-Evansville 6-0 on Saturday, October 25 to move on to the Section 5A championship. NEXT: the Jaguars have a rematch with Upsala/Swanville Area on Friday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. at the FargoDome.

The final score was also the halftime score, and B-B-E's overall record improved to 6-3. This brings the Jaguars to the section championship game for the third straight year and the fourth time in the past 5 seasons.

Ashby/Brandon-Evansville sees their season finish with a record of 5-5.

It’s been 28 years since the Jaguars advanced past a section semifinal game for the first time ever. They lost in second-round games in 1988 and 1993. In 1997, the Jaguars played Eden Valley-Watkins in the Section 5AA championship game and lost an unforgettable heart-breaker 14-12.

B-B-E’s other section championship trips have all been in Section 4A: 2010, 2012, 2013, 2021, 2023 and 2024.

For the fifth straight season, the Jaguars meet top-seeded and defending section champion Upsala/Swanville Area in the playoffs. It’s also the third straight meeting between these teams in the state qualifier.

The Patriots improved to 8-1 overall with a 42-0 win against Browerville in the other Section 5A semifinal on Saturday in Swanville.
