FULL house for Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon opening night at BBE's Olson Auditorium!

A wildly successful opening night for the B-B-E school theater's fall two-act play Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon drew a full house on Friday, November 14.

Another 7 p.m. show takes place on Saturday, November 15. The final performance is Sunday, November 16 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at the door, and doors open to the theater 30 minutes before each show. To get a good seat, it is recommended to arrive 30 minutes prior to show time.

About Friday night's show...

As the cast and crew were preparing themselves in the band room, just before 7 p.m., additional chairs were brought over from the gymnasium to give everyone a place to sit. The 278 permanent chairs had filled by that point. The estimated crowd numbered about 290, which is a record crowd since the musical Tarzan was performed at B-B-E high school in 2013.

In the post-COVID years (2021 and after), the three-night totals for turnout was between 550 and 600.

The run time for Act I was 48 minutes, and Act II included a run time of 59 minutes. Including what was roughly a 17-minute intermission, the show completed at 9:10 p.m. Incredibly, opening night featured a cast and crew that was nearly flawless, a remarkable feat considering that the cast of 28 students includes 24 middle school students in grades 6 to 8.

Sophomore Clay Cihlar and sixth grader Sophia Schoenberg did a masterful job of narration throughout all scenes. Altogether, 21 of the 28 cast members were brand new to the Olson Auditorium theater stage.

The attached pictures are from the opening night's show.
