The men and women of the Brooten American Legion and Legion Auxiliary Post No. 288 were honored guests at the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa elementary school Veterans Day program. This was held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday this week.

After the Presentation of Colors by the American Legion, Principal Trent Johnson provided the welcome address. The B-B-E senior high band performed the National Anthem.
Grades 4-5 students performed the song "We Will Not Forget" following the National Anthem.
Freshman Abby Lieser, daughter of Brad and Angie Lieser, provided the first place Voice of Democracy speech.
Four musical selections were performed.
The senior high choir: The Navy Hymn and We Honor You.
The senior high band: America the Beautiful and the Armed Forces March.
Taps was played by freshman Bryce Borgerding, to honor the time of the Armistice in France that ended World War I on November 11, 1918. It was on that day that Germany and the Allied powers signed the armistice in a railway carriage in Compiègne, France.
