Business activity ramps up for Brooten's Santa Day (VIDEO)

Brooten was buzzing all day and into the evening on Saturday, December 6. Retail businesses were busy with activity, and the Brooten Activities Club hosted the annual Santa Day event in downtown Brooten.

Businesses like Earthy Elements, LLC, had a great response from the public at their Highway 55 location in The Shed and Jana Mae's (950 Highway 55, Brooten). Earthy Elements offers floral design and much more, including a great selection of gifts that would serve well at Christmas time. Jana Mae's had their own Christmas sales at The Shed with a number of Grab-N-Go items available. The business website is https://www.janamaesinc.com.

Across Highway 55 from The Shed at Fauskee Oil's headquarters on Saturday, Jane Fauskee hosted a Christmas sale with her Hopeful Hills Ranch products in the morning and through 1 p.m. Fauskee has a big Christmas Sale and open house this weekend (December 13-14) at her ranch. At the B-B-E elementary school, the Christmas Women's Expo was held that was hosted by B-B-E Community Education. Vendors who spoke to the newspaper publisher were pleased with their sales that morning, and they even had a surprise appearance by The Grinch.

Brooten Santa Day activities began at 4 p.m. with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus visiting with children at Lucky Shots Bowling Alley. While children and families gathered there, members of B-B-E Girl Scouts Troop No. 478 helped with craftmaking and cookie decorating. The Glacial Ridge A.B.A.T.E. offered hot chocolate and cider. Gifts were given to all children after they stopped with Santa Claus.

Across the street at the KaDe Shack, the B-B-E Cub Scouts Pack No. 667 held a chili feed with 8 roasters of chili available. A free will donation was accepted, and proceeds will go to the B-B-E Area Food Shelf.
