For the first time in many years, the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa speech team hosted a home meet at the high school with the first annual Jagtastic Speech Invitational this past Saturday, February 15. Year to year, the speech team occasionally hosts either conference or subsection meets, but this year the team gets two meets at home (subsections are in Belgrade on April 4). The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa wrestling team sent 12 athletes to the Section 5A individual wrestling tournament at Yellow Medicine East high school on Saturday, February 22. Out of those 12, three of them earned first or second place finishes to advance to the Class 1A state tournament at Xcel Energy Center on February 28 and March 1.
