The No. 10-ranked Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars had a battle on their hands on Tuesday, March 5 for the Sub-Section 5A-South girls' basketball finals. Facing a tall, scrappy and physical Swanville Bulldogs team, the Jaguars played a terrific game while coming away with a 66-52 win. B-B-E advances to the Section 5A championship for the third straight year. They will take on a 28-1 Menahga Braves team for a state tournament berth. The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Resistance Robotics team climbed to 19th place out of 63 teams after their final match was completed at the Lakes Superior regional in Duluth on Saturday, March 9. After a few other matches were in the tally, B-B-E's team climbed to 18th place for a brief period before settling in for good at 19th place.
