    The Trinity and West Lake Johanna Lutheran church parish held a joint service at the Brooten city park on Sunday, July 27. The worship was a special farewell service for Pastor Jeanne Megorden and her husband, Pete, as she is retiring from the Lutheran Ministry at the end of the month. Pastor Jeanne and Pete have been in Brooten with the Trinity/WLJ Parish since they moved to Brooten in June 2022. The full worship video is attached here.     Bonanza Valley Royal Strutters was thrilled to have 55 youth attend Jakes Day on Saturday, July 26 at the Belgrade Sportsmen's Range.     Lincoln's Bar and Restaurant will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (July 31, August 1, August 2) this weekend from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the bar and grill open in the front bar. The back dining room will open in August as they add more staff. The local phone number for the restaurant is 320-346-2323.     A wildly successful Birch Coulee Ranch Rodeo helped get the Pope County Fair off to a remarkable start in Glenwood on Thursday, July 31. Activities continue all day on Friday and Saturday, August 1-2. The main event on Sunday, August 3 features a Demolition Derby at the grandstand at 2 p.m. Livestock, open class and 4-H general projects are released on Sunday.     The Pope County Fair had a truly tremendous day of activities on Friday, August 1 in Glenwood. With temperatures hovering in the mid-70s and full sunshine, conditions were perfect for the outdoor events taking place at the fair. In the 4-H cattle show at Jack Morris Arena, they had 150 cattle registered. On Thursday night, the Birch Coulee Ranch Rodeo had 33 teams participate.
