The annual Bonanza Valley Days celebration in Brooten is coming next on July 9, 10, 11 and 12 in 2026! Spread the word and mark your calendars! The 2026 BVD grand parade starts at 1:30 p.m. in Brooten on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

A Red Cross blood drive will be held Monday, November 24, 2025, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg. Blood donations are urgently needed. The Brooten community invites everyone to their Santa Day activities on Saturday, December 6 beginning at 4 p.m. with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus visiting with area children at Lucky Shots Bowling Alley. Other activities follow there and at the KaDe Shack. The Brooten Lighted Christmas parade is at 6 p.m. on Main Street. Other details to follow.

On Saturday, December 13, the Sedan Community Group is excited to host Santa Day from 1 to 3 p.m. at Heidi's Bar. Children are invited to come take a picture with Santa Claus. Other activities include hay rides, and hot cocoa and cookies will be served. Kids can also receive a small toy, while supplies last. Heidi's Bar is located at 203 Marsh Street in downtown Sedan.
