A big weekend is shaping up for the Elrosa Saints amateur baseball team. They travel to Freeport on Friday this week (June 11) with first pitch at Black Sox Stadium at 7:30 p.m.

The "big game" is this coming Saturday, when the Saints (3-4) host Stearns County League North leader Spring Hill (5-2) in the KASM 1150 AM radio Game of the Week. First pitch at Saints Field on the 12th is at 8 p.m., and Randy Rothstein will have the call.

Another big weekend follows this one, with Elrosa hosting their Elite 8 tournament on June 18, 19 and 20 beginning with a Friday night game with Starbuck visiting Saints Field with first pitch at 6:30 p.m.

The Starz of Tomorrow Baseball Academy youth camp is on Friday, June 25 in Elrosa from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for baseball players age 13 and younger. A skills camp lasts until 2 p.m. with a game to follow. Lunch is provided. This is a great opportunity for area youth baseball players that's directed by SCSU head coach Pat Dolan, 2016 National Coach of the Year plus his staff.

Registration forms are available on their website at Starzbaseballcamp.com under "camps and programs" or by visiting the Jaguars Sports extended coverage blog, where you can find more information.

With spring high school sports coming to a close soon, The Voice will ramp up Elrosa baseball coverage and Jaguar Summer Youth sports coverage.
