Sedan Daze 2022: it will be interesting (and fun!)

Parade to start at 3 p.m. the afternoon of Saturday, August 20

August 18, 2022

The community of Sedan is excited to announce the return of Sedan Daze, which is coming on Saturday, August 20. You heard it here first: Sedan Daze will be interesting.

Volunteer organizers have been planning all year for the event, so they ask you to start planning now to pack up your gear for a trip to Pope County's paradise!

The day begins with three big events that all begin at 11 a.m.

First, a car show runs on Marsh Street from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and a craft and vendor show also starts at 11 a.m. A silent auction runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the back room of Heidi's Bar, with proceeds going towards Sedan Daze programming.

A corn hole tournament starts at noon with a 50 team max and registration opening at 11:30 a.m.

Starting at noon, children's activities will take place until 2:30 p.m. These activities are FREE and include a bouncy house, face painting, rock painting, ducks in a pool and ladder ball. All games come with prizes!

Also at noon, the Sedan Fire Department will be grilling food all day until the street dance is over, taking a small break to prepare for and participate in the parade.

The Sedan Daze grand parade is at 3 p.m.

A tug-of-war competition is at 5 p.m.

Axe throwing will run from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Sedan-style drag races begin promptly at 7 p.m.

The grand finale for the day of fun in Sedan is a live performance of the local band Wasted Time from 8 p.m. until midnight outside Heidi's Bar. At the halfway point of the street dance at 10 p.m., the Sedan Fire Department will hold their cash raffle drawing. Tickets are on sale now (contact any fire department member) and will be on sale throughout that day.

Check out a video from 2017! The night was August 18 that year when Wasted Time performed at the Sedan Fire Daze celebration. Click here = Wasted Time in 2018.
