Marlin Henjum, local historian and retired school teacher, passed away on Tuesday, June 24 in Willmar.
In 2021, Henjum released his book Wheat King that chronicled the life of Hans Henjum as he immigrated from Norway to America in the 19th century at age 18. Hans Henjum was a great-grandfather of Marlin Henjum.
In the attached video, Henjum is shown speaking about his long-time friend and neighbor, Myron Hauge, during the Norway Lake Log Church celebration on August 21, 2022.
Marlin Henjum's father was Herbert; Herbert's father was Samuel; and Samuel's father was Hans. Hans Henjum passed away on January 11, 1917 at the family farm in Arctander Township. Three months later, Marlin's father, Herbert, was born.
