B-B-E high school FACS Gingerbread house project (VIDEO)

December 22, 2022

A marvelous annual tradition at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school has been the Family and Consumer Science (FACS) foods class Gingerbread House project in December. This year a total of 11 houses were made over a two-plus week period of time leading up to the final week before the Christmas break. The design and build period was heavily disrupted by early outs and late starts and multiple snow days that created challenges for the students to meet the deadline of Wednesday, December 21.

In what can be dubbed a "Christmas miracle" at B-B-E, the students all met the deadline and the gingerbread houses were on display at lunch time on December 21 just before the school was closed down due to an oncoming blizzard the next day.

B-B-E's Christmas break started on December 21 and lasts through Monday, January 2.

A video below features a glimpse into the creating of the houses. Further coverage is forthcoming.
