Bonanza Valley Days 2023 is just around the corner!

The annual Bonanza Valley Days celebration in Brooten is just around the corner! The big four-day event is coming on July 6 through July 9 with activities actually starting on Monday, July 3 that week with the BVD Medallion Hunt. The medallion hunt starts at 8 a.m. Monday, at which time the first clue will be posted at city hall.

Sign-ups for the BVD Youth 3-on-3 basketball tournament are underway as well as the men's 3-on-3 tournament. The youth tournament starts at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 6 at the elementary gymnasiums. To sign up, please email Coach Anderson at canderson@bbejaguars.org to get a registration form emailed to you. If you sign up by June 28, your team receives a $10 discount.

Also on Thursday, July 6 will be the Worship in the Park that kicks off the all-ages activities, and that is at 7 p.m. at the city park that night.

Friday, July 7 activities include the BVD Youth baseball tournament (grades 3-6), Art in the Park (1 p.m.) and the Brooten Fire Relief Association chicken supper starting at 5 p.m. There's also two dances (street dance at downtown and another one at the Pavilion) plus a craft and vendor show from 4 to 8 p.m. at the city park.

Coming Saturday, July 8...

The BVD Sand Volleyball tournament is on Saturday, July 8 starting at 9 a.m. at the city park sand courts next to the remodeled tennis courts. Registration is set for 8:30 a.m. You can sign up a team by calling the newspaper office at 320-346-2400. Organizers wish to limit this to 8 teams so the tournament will be wrapped up within just a few hours and not last all day.

The heart of BVD activities is on Saturday, and that list will be expanded here on this web article. Saturday's main event is the street dance that night featuring 32 Below on main street. The grand parade is at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the Miss Brooten Royalty pageant will follow the parade on Sunday at the Pavilion. BVD posters are up around the area at multiple public locations. You don't want to miss it!
