The attached video features Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's Tia Nelson, a member of the Class of 2025, reading General John Logan's Order No. 11 at Olson Auditorium. This was during the Belgrade V.F.W. Memorial Day program.

From the Army Historical Program: On March 3, 1868, General John Logan issued General Order No. 11, which called for a national day of remembrance for Civil War dead. This order served as the basis for what became the national holiday of Memorial Day. Logan also returned to politics after the war as a Republican and served in both the House and Senate. Logan was a Union general during the American Civil War (1861–65). You can read the full story by clicking here: https://loganmuseum.org/memorial-day.
