Belgrade VFW Memorial Day program (VIDEO)

The Belgrade V.F.W. Post No. 1825 held its Memorial Day program at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa high school's Olson Auditorium. About 80 members of the public were in attendance along with the B-B-E high school's grades 8-12 choir and band, which both performed patriotic songs. In the attached video, you can watch the program. The guest speaker was Keith Johnson, a Belgrade native who graduated from BHS in 1960. He later was a music teacher at Litchfield high school before retiring in 1999. After retirement as a teacher, Johnson also served as Litchfield's mayor for 12 years before retiring from that post in January 2023. He was succeeded as Litchfield's mayor by Ron Dingmann, another Belgrade native who graduated from BHS in 1971.

Johnson is married to Marian Quisberg, who was a 1961 graduate of Brooten high school. His keynote address begins at about the 25 minute, 30 second mark of the attached video.

Additional commentary on the program was published in the June 5 issue of the Bonanza Valley Voice newspaper.
